PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To overcome the problem that a cam member is made longer to make an optical device large-sized in the case that a protrusion for position detection is provided in the end in the axial direction of a cam member for driving mobile optical elements. SOLUTION: The optical device is provided with at least two mobile optical elements 13 and 14 which can be moved in the direction of an optical axis, a cam member 22 which is driven to rotate around a shaft 202 approximately parallel with the optical axis by a driving source 23 and has at least two cam groove parts 22a and 22b formed for driving the mobile optical elements in the direction of the optical axis, on the peripheral surface, and a detection means 24 which detects a protrusion for position detection 22e provided on the peripheral surface of the cam member, and the protrusion for position detection is provided between two cam groove parts on the peripheral surface of the cam member in a direction approximately parallel with the optical axis.
