PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To deter or prevent a press substrate which is stacked and bonded to a surface of a V-groove substrate from peeling in an optical fiber array equipped with the V-groove substrate. SOLUTION: The optical fiber array 1 has the V-groove substrate 2 which has a V groove 3 formed on its surface 2a and the press substrate 4 (cover glass) which is stacked and bonded to the surface 2a, and in the V groove 3, a coating optical fiber 61 led out of the tip of an optical fiber 6 is put and fixedly bonded. Here, A/B is 0.5 to 0.8, where A is the projection quantity of the coated optical fiber 61 projecting from the surface 2a of the V-groove substrate 2 and B is the distance from the bottom 3a of the V groove 3 to the outer circumferential surface lower end 61b of the coated optical fiber 61 put in the V groove 3. Consequently, an adhesive 7 between the substrates becomes substantially equal in thermal expansion quantity to a bottom-side adhesive part in the V groove and then it is confirmed that a pressing-up force F operating on the coated optical fiber 61 owing to the thermal expansion of the adhesive is reducible or substantially eliminated.
