PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem in a brake fluid pressure generating device wherein braking operation force is added to a regulator through a stroke simulator, and the fluid pressure supplied from a fluid pressure source is outputted after being regulated to a value corresponding to the braking operation force by the regulator, that returning stroke before the start of lowering the output fluid pressure of the regulator is increased in returning the brake, which causes the delay in response at lowering the output fluid pressure, and impairs the feeling in braking. SOLUTION: The sliding resistance of a simulator piston 44 is determined to be larger than the sliding resistance of an input piston 42 to allow the input piston 42 to relatively move to the regulator 47 before the simulator piston 44 is relatively moved to the input piston 42. Whereby the response in lowering the output fluid pressure with respect to the release of brake can be quickened. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
