PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for charging auxiliary material in a molten-metal refining facility, which can adjust a region to be charged even in a first method of charging the massive auxiliary material with the use of a charging chute. SOLUTION: The device 10 for charging the auxiliary material has a gas- jetting device 4 which sprays an assist gas in a direction along an inner wall of the charging chute 3, and across a charging direction X for the auxiliary material passing through the charging chute 3.
