PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide one olefin polymer which has a main chain substituted with two polar groups at theωposition and another olefin polymer which has a main chain substituted with polar groups both at theωposition and at one or more (ω-n) positions (n≥1); and a method for producing the same polymers. SOLUTION: The one olefin polymer comprises a main chain substituted with a methylol group and a Y-substituted methyl group (-CH<SB>2</SB>Y, Y is an O or N atom-containing polar group) at theωposition, while another olefin polymer comprises a main chain substituted with a methylol group at theωposition and Y-substituted methyl groups (-CH<SB>2</SB>Y, Y is an O or N atom-containing polar group) at the (ω-n) positions, (n≥1). The method for producing these polymers comprises copolymerizing a 2-20Cα-olefin with a polar group-containing olefin: CH<SB>2</SB>=CH-CH<SB>2</SB>-Y (Y is an O or N atom-containing polar group) in the presence of (A) the compound of a transition metal belonging to the 3-10 groups in the periodic table and (B) a catalyst including an organic aluminium compound.
