PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drum brake device having excellent braking characteristic, by stabilizing operation of a pivot lever and a brake shoe with good responsiveness. SOLUTION: The drum brake device 1 has the brake shoe 2 whose ends are supported by a wheel cylinder 5 and an anchor block 7. The brake shoe 2 is disposed so that the pivot lever 8 can rotate or oscillate. A projecting portion 63a of an actuator 6 operated by a parking brake is inserted in and brought into contact with a rectangular window 82a of the pivot lever 8, and a clearance Cd is formed between the projecting portion 63a and a rectangular window 21d of the brake shoe 2.
