PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injection pump as improvement of a conventional fuel injection pump equipped with a constant pressure valve as its delivery valve involving such a problem that its requiring a higher fuel injection pressure makes it difficult to lessen the reflection wave while the remaining pressure is kept constant and leads to easy generation of secondary injections. SOLUTION: The fuel injection pump has a delivery valve 15 to supply fuel to an injection nozzle 29, wherein the delivery valve 15 is furnished with a constant pressure valve 15a and a damping valve 50 to be connected in series to the outlet on the injection nozzle 29 side of the constant pressure valve 15a.
