PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detergent and a detergent product having smooth discharging property, adheres and uniformly covers the stain on the surface of an cleaning object without passing through the net even when the cleaning target is a net structured body such as a strainer or a triangle corner strainer, etc., and manifesting excellent adhesion keeping property, stain removing performance. SOLUTION: The detergent contains (1) an alkali hypochlorite, (2) an alkali, (3) a surfactant and (4) a water soluble compound, and the composition has thixotropic nature and (4) the water soluble compound is a water soluble compound either one or their mixture of the (A) R<SP>1</SP>O(EO)<SB>n</SB>R<SP>2</SP>, (B) R<SP>3</SP>O-(AO)<SB>p</SB>-(EO)<SB>q</SB>-R<SP>4</SP>, or (C) R<SP>5</SP>O-[(AO)<SB>s</SB>(EO)<SB>t</SB>]-R<SP>6</SP>.
