PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external cataplasm used in a state attached to a human body surface, in which at least two sheet-like water-containing gel layers are laminated and water content of the sheet-like water-containing gel in the laminate is made different for every layer and cooling property, shape-retaining property, attaching property and pharmacological effects, etc., are remarkably improved thereby. SOLUTION: The external cataplasm has a structure obtained by laminating the sheet-like water-containing gel (outside surface) 2a through a support 3 to the sheet-like water-containing gel (body surface side) 2b. The external cataplasm improves adhesive force to the body surface by setting the water content of the sheet-like water-containing gel (body surface side) 2b so as to be smaller than that of the sheet-like water-containing gel (outside).
