PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively use potential energy by regenerating it when lowering a fork. SOLUTION: This control device for a forklift imports the operation amountθof a lift lever measured by a potentiometer (S1), imports an actual speedωof a hydraulic motor by an encoder (S4), when the left lever is singularly operated (YES in S2) and lift lever is lifted (YES in S3), deduces an actual accelerationβ, a target speedω0, and a target accelerationβ0 (S5), and deduces a torque command values T0 and T (S6). When it is determined to be regenerated from the torque command value T (YES in S7), this device changes over a changeover valve to the regeneration side (S8) so as to let oil from the lift cylinder to pass through a hydraulic pump, and controls the hydraulic motor at a torque command value T0 (S9).
