PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transferring method and an apparatus for a cylindrical film wherein smoothing of the transfer of the cylindrical film is realized, and at the same time, the cylindrical film is prevented from being damaged, and displacement of the cylindrical film is prevented from occurring. SOLUTION: The cylindrical film 2 is received under an open state by guide members 21 to 24 comprising a plurality of bar-shape parts by making an opening width narrower. Then, the guide members are opened, and the cylindrical film is held. Such a process and a mechanism are provided. At the same time, a process and a mechanism wherein the cylindrical film being held by the guide members is transferred from the receiving location to a delivering location to an article to be covered 12 are provided. Thus, the delivery of the cylindrical film under the open state to the article to be covered, and the transfer of the cylindrical film to the article to be covered are realized. Also, the cylindrical film which is received by the guide members is gripped by a gripping means (gripping mechanism 72), and a positional displacement is prevented from occurring.
