<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically generate a melody with optimum progression of chords by obtaining chord progression data wherein a pattern of progress of chords is maintained. <P>SOLUTION: When desired chord progression data CPo are selected from a chord progression database of a specified key and a motif of the specified key is inputted, a chord progression determination system of the present invention detects a plurality of motif part chord progression candidates 1 to 4 according to the motif and finds a motif part chord progression 'E'-'A' (candidate 2) having the same chord progression pattern with a motif part 'C'-'F' of the chord progression data CPo among the motif part chord progression candidates 1 to 4. According to the motif part chord progression 'E'-'A' (candidate 2), the chord progression data CPo are corrected (transposed) to match the motif part chord progression, thereby obtaining the optimum chord progression data CPe wherein the progression pattern of chords of the original chord progression data CPo is maintained. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
