<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal device which attains a clear display by enhancing luminance when the liquid crystal device is observed in almost front direction deviated from the front surface reflecting direction of the liquid crystal device. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal device is constituted of a liquid crystal panel 10a constituted by providing a liquid crystal layer 15 between a pair of substrates 17, 28a, by successively laminating a phase difference plate 19, a polarization plate 16 and an optical means 18 from the side of an upper substrate 17 on an upper side of the liquid crystal panel 10a and the optical means 18 is constituted so that incident liquid L1 and light L6 satisfy relation as |α|<|θ| when an incident angle of the incident light L1 made incident on the optical means 18 for a normal line H of the optical means 18 is defined as θ and a diffraction angle of diffused light or diffracted light L6 diffused or diffracted when the incident light L1 transmits the optical means 18 for the normal line of the optical means 18 is defined as α. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
