<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light transmission plate or display device which can improve picture quality while maintaining high durability. <P>SOLUTION: Light which enters the light transmission plate 14 from a linear light source 12 through a side face 14a is reflected by reflecting surfaces 18a, 18a,... of respective prisms 18, 18,... and exits from a lower surface 14b. This projection light after irradiating a liquid crystal panel 16 is reflected by a reflecting layer 16a provided in the liquid crystal panel 16 to travel toward the front of the screen. On the lower surface 14b as an exiting surface of the light transmission plate 14, many fine projections 20 which have rectangular vertical sections are formed covering the entire effect area of the lower surface 14b without any gap, and consequently antireflection effect can be obtained. Consequently, reflection of light reflected by the respective reflecting surfaces 18a, 18a,... by the lower surface 14b can be suppressed to reduce adverse influence of reflected light from the lower surface 14b on picture quality. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
