PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for a recording-display medium containing a diarylethene compound as a photochromic material and used for forming a recording-display medium capable of repeating recording and erasure of information many times and to provide a recording-display medium capable of repeating recording and erasure of information many times. SOLUTION: The composition for a recording-display medium contains a binder comprising a norbornene resin and a photochromic material comprising a specified diarylethene compound.
