<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner exhibiting good developing performance even in long-term use and even at high temperature and high humidity. <P>SOLUTION: In the toner comprising at least a bonding resin and a colorant, 0.1 to 100 ppm sulfonic acid-containing monomer is contained, wherein the sulfonic acid is 2-acrylamide, 2-methylpropane sulfonic acid. A copolymerized resin obtained by copolymerizing a styrene/acrylic monomer and 2-acrylamide, 2-methylpropane sulfonic acid is incorporated into the toner as an electrostatic charge controlling agent. The copolymerization ratio of the styrene/acrylic monomer to the 2-acrylamide, 2-methylpropane sulfonic acid is 98:2 to 80:20. The copolymerized resin has a weight average molecular weight of 2,000 to 20,000 and a glass transition temperature of 50 to 90°C.
