PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rail joint structure easy in installing work, and reducing maintenance. SOLUTION: In this rail joint structure 6, a conductive part 7 is sandwiched in a clearance part A between a side surface 2a of a rail 2 and a side surface 3a of a splice plate 3. The conductive part 7 directly contacts on the whole side surface 7a with the side surface 2a, directly contacts on the whole side surface 7b with the side surface 3a, and is formed of intermediate metal such as a zinc aluminum alloy and alloy cast iron. This rail joint structure 6 can constitute a track circuit and a return wire passage without using a rail bond in a joint structure of a conventional rail. As a result, a circuit breaking accident such as cutting of a lead wire part of the rail bond and separation of a brazing part is prevented to reduce the maintenance. Workability can be improved because of resulting in simple installing work for sandwiching the intermediate metal between the side surface 2a and the side surface 3a. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
