PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To establish a synthetic method for introducing an alkylsilyl group as a substituent to a triphenylene to obtain the triphenylene having the alkylsilyl group generates strong phosphorescence and has an high conversion rate of phosphorescence as compared with those of conventional strongly phosphorescent substances, and also has advantages such as increased processability since it is soluble in an organic solvent. SOLUTION: This highly phosphorescent triphenylene derivative is a compound expressed by attaching a silyl group expressed by general formula: SiR<SB>3</SB>(wherein, R's are each H, an alkyl, vinyl or an aryl, and at least 2 of the R's are each the alkyl) to a triphenylene skeleton.
