Treating dangerous waste, especially radioactive waste in compressed and/or encapsulated form, comprises placing the waste in a bath and then coating it with an elastic material which is non-porous to steam or water. The waste is then removed from the bath, and the coating is allowed to dry and harden. The coating material is e.g. bitumen, wax or plastic. |
