According to an embodiment of the present invention, a method for managing the state of an electronic control unit (ECU) of an automotive open system architecture based vehicle is a method for managing the state of an AUTOSAR based system and comprises: a step of periodically monitoring the ignition signal; a step of proceeding with the ECU start-up sequence when the ignition signal becomes an on-state; a step of requesting an ECU communication start and a controller area network (CAN) communication start; and a step of transferring the ignition signal to other software components. According to the present invention, in the AUTOSAR-based vehicle system, the ECU of the vehicle can effectively be managed.
