PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new thiophene derivative excellent in heat resistance, transparency, moisture resistance and an adhering property, and useful as a raw material in various organic chemical industries. SOLUTION: This thiophene derivative is expressed by general formula (I) [wherein, X<SP>1</SP>is selected from S, O and CR<SP>1</SP><SB>2</SB>(wherein, R<SP>1</SP>'s are H, a 1-20C alkyl or a 6-20C aryl and may be the same or different) and may be the same or different; Y<SP>1</SP>is H, a 1-20C alkyl, a 6-20C aryl, hydroxyl, a 1-20C alkoxy or a 6-20C aryloxy, wherein the alkyl, aryl, alkoxy or aryloxy may have a specific substituent; and (n) is 0, 1 or 2].
