PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an antiseptic resin composition suitable for forming molded products such as films, which may release carbon dioxide at a substantially constant concentration over a long period in an environment wherein the moisture (humidity) is suitable for bacterial propagation, for effectively sterilizing or inhibiting the bacterial or fungal propagation. SOLUTION: The antiseptic resin composition comprises 0.01-2 pts.mass fluororesin compounded with 100 pts.mass resin composition comprising a polyolefin resin or a polystyrene resin and a substance which may generate carbon dioxide in the presence of moisture. A film made of this antiseptic resin composition is easily prepared through inflation molding, has a fine appearance and is suitable as a packaging material for food, and the like.
