PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of controlling a reaction of an unsaturated polyester resin by correctly determining the end point of the reaction through continuously measuring characteristics of the unsaturated polyester resin with an instrument. SOLUTION: This method of controlling a reaction of an unsaturated polyester resin comprizes reacting an unsaturated polyester resin source material, measuring the viscosity of the reaction resin liquid with a vibration-type viscometer successively, and terminating the reaction when the viscosity of the reaction resin liquid reaches a predetermined viscosity in the range of 10-500 mPas.
