PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device of a thermal fixing system, innovative in structure, which is suitable for a high speed image forming apparatus, ensures smooth fixing and ejection after fixing, and prevents image failure caused by a releasing agent such as silicone oil. SOLUTION: A releasing-agent application means for the surface of a fixing roller 51 is composed of an application roller 53d and a restricting blade 53e which restricts a releasing agent on the application roller. The edge which is in contact with the surface of the application roller is cut off at an angle of 30°to 70°to the longitudinal face of the restricting member. The angle at which the blade is in contact with the application roller surface is equal to or greater than 30°but equal to or less than 50°. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
