PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hollow cathode lamp capable of reducing anomalous electric discharge, which can occur at stem pins. SOLUTION: In the hollow cathode lamp 1, a plurality of all the stem pins 6a-6f are instantaneously surrounded with an electricity insulating tubular member 8 of ceramics or the like. By this, it is possible to reduce anomalous electric discharge, which can occur at the stem pins, to enable the simple work of mounting the tubular member 8 to a stem 4 in addition, and to contribute toward a sense of safety at use.
