PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic wave transmission/reception type flowmeter of high propagation efficiency of an ultrasonic wave, which satisfactorily measures a flow rate. SOLUTION: An ultrasonic wave sensor type vortex flowmeter 10 comprises a flowmeter body 12 in which a flow path 22 is formed, a vortex generator 14 provided on the flow path 22, and ultrasonic wave transmission/reception sensors 16 and 18 so provided as to sandwich the flow path 22. The ultrasonic wave transmission/reception sensors 16 and 18 are so formed that distances between the parts of sound wave transmission/reception surfaces and the flow path 22 are identical. The ultrasonic wave radiated from the parts of the ultrasonic wave transmission surface of the transmission sensor 16 enters vertical to the flow path 22. After propagated in the flow path 22, it is entered vertically on the parts of the ultrasonic wave reception surface of the reception sensor 18, with no partial total-reflection.
