PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a helmet capable of avoiding an increase of size and protecting not only the front face of a wearer but also the sides. SOLUTION: The helmet comprises a front shield plate 3 assembled through straight guide holes 5 and engaging members 8a and 8b in a supporting plate 2 so as to be vertically movable at the front in a hat body 51. Tips of a left and a right shield plates 4L and 4R are rotatably assembled through engaging members 11a and 11b in a left and a right ends of the front shield plate 3. The base ends thereof are assembled through curved guide holes 9 and engaging members 10a and 10b in the supporting plate 2 so as to be movable to the front oblique downward side in the left and right fronts in the hat body 51. In the shield plate assembly 1 thus obtained, the front shield plate 3 in a state thereof mounted in the hat body 51 is drawn out downward to thereby draw out the left and right shield plates 4L and 4R to the front oblique downward side jointly with the front shield plate 3.
