<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery monitoring system for preventing trouble, and executing efficient, effective, and proper battery replacing maintenance by unitarily seizing a using state of batteries mounted on terminal units by a host. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of terminal units 5 are arranged in respective stores. A battery monitoring control part 52 monitors the batteries 51 for driving the units. The total operation time operated by the mounted same batteries, a charging frequency to the mounted same batteries, or actual operation time from charging completing time operated by one time charging of the mounted same batteries are monitored to predict expiration of service life according to a consuming state of the batteries. Battery state information including the predicted expiration of service life is periodically transmitted to a server 4, and the battery state information is transferred to the host 11.
