<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device capable of saving power and performing a high speed process. <P>SOLUTION: The control device as a multi-function machine 1 has a CPU current detection part 4 for detecting operation current Ic of a CPU 2 and detects the operation current Ic of the CPU 2 and judges an operation load state of the CPU 2 based on the detected operation current Ic. To change operation frequency of the CPU 2, in the case that the operation load state of the CPU 2 is judged to be in a high loading state, a multiplication rate of the CPU 2 is raised and in the case that the operation load state of the CPU 2 is judged to be in a low loading state, the multiplication rate of the CPU 2 is lowered. The voltage of a CPU power source 6 is changed to become equal to a minimum operation voltage value under the changed operation frequency.
