PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new transition-metal complex. SOLUTION: This transition-metal complex is expressed by general formula (1) [M is a 4 group transition-metal element in the periodic table; A and B are each a 15 group element in the periodic table; R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP>, R<SP>3</SP>, R<SP>4</SP>, R<SP>5</SP>, R<SP>6</SP>, R<SP>7</SP>, X<SP>1</SP>and X<SP>2</SP>are each H, a halogen, a 1-20C alkyl, a 7-20C aralkyl, a 6-20C aryl, a 1-20C substituted silyl, a 1-20C alkoxy, a 7-20C aralkyloxy, a 6-20C aryloxy or a 2-20C disubstituted amino, provided that R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>, or any two of adjacent R<SP>3</SP>, R<SP>4</SP>, R<SP>5</SP>, and R<SP>6</SP>may arbitrarily bond to each other to form a ring; and n is 1 or 2, m is 0, 1 or 2, provided that (m+n) is 2 or 3].
