The present invention provides a wastewater treatment apparatus and a wastewater treatment method, using a vertical structured microbial fuel cell including an algae reduction electrode outside an oxidation electrode. The present invention is efficient in view of space utilization, can maximize the power production through easy enlargement of capacity and surface area and generation of high-concentration oxygen, and exhibits an effect of facilitating long-term operation. In addition, no aeration process is needed and thus the operation costs can be reduced, and the algae grown in an algae reduction reaction bath can be collected, and used in the production of methane or the production of useful bio-energy. |
