<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a honeycomb filter with excellent durability in which a crack caused by thermal stress generated at the time of use, particularly at the time of regeneration, is not generated. <P>SOLUTION: The honeycomb filter 10 has a large number of circulation holes 12 partitioned by a partition wall and axially penetrating and captures/ removes a granular substance contained in a dust-containing fluid. The partition wall of the circulation holes has a filter performance. One end is closed regarding to predetermined circulation holes 12 and the other end is closed regarding the residual circulation holes 12. A heat capacity at a central part 11 is made higher as compared with a heat capacity at a peripheral part 13 at an axially vertical cross section of the honeycomb filter 10. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
