PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust brake device excellent in sticking resistance and corrosion resistance between a shaft member supporting a valve element and bearing members. SOLUTION: In the exhaust brake device, the valve element 14 disposed in the inner passage 12 of a body part 11 is supported by the shaft member 15 and the pair of bearing members 16 and 17 fitted into the body part rotatably supports the shaft member 15. The base of the shaft member is made from heat resisting steel and either a chrome plating layer, a nitride compound layer, or an Ni-P plating layer is formed at least on the portion of the surface of the shaft member making contact with the bearing member. The bearing member is cast using high chrome cast iron or a Co based intermetallic compound. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
