PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding material wherein a frictional resistance during sliding is reduced. SOLUTION: This sliding material comprises a base material and a film having a polishing function. The polishing characteristics of the film formed on the base material are differentiated from each other. Since the film having the polishing function polishes the surface of a mating material, the frictional resistance during the sliding is suppressed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
