PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new therapeutic agent and/or prophylactic agent for retinal photolesion and a therapeutic agent and/or prophylactic agent for retinal diseases caused by retinal photolesion and/or eye diseases and a medicine useful as a photoreceptor protecting agent. SOLUTION: The therapeutic agent and/or prophylactic agent comprises a pyrazolone derivative represented by formula (I) (wherein each symbol is as described in the specification), its hydrate or its pharmacologically acceptable salt as an active ingredient.
