PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic paper feeder improved so that paper jam can be easily released without a complicated structure, and skew, poor feeding, and poor separation of paper can be prevented, and to provide a printing machine, a copying machine, and a composite machine provided with the feeder. SOLUTION: This automatic paper feeder has a paper feed roller feeding paper one by one from the loaded paper, a separation roller rotating in a reverse direction to the paper feed roller to prevent advancement of paper following the paper to be fed, an elastic energizing means for applying pressing force to the paper feed roller to this separation roller, a holder holding both shaft end parts of the separation roller, and an arm with one end connected to the holder at a position corresponding to the central part of the separation roller in an axial direction. The elastic force of the elastic energizing means acts on the arm. Thereby, the correlation of the separation roller, the holder, and the arm is always constant. Since the pressing force of the separation roller to the paper feed roller can be laterally uniform, the skew of the paper can be prevented without spoiling the easiness of releasing paper jam.
