PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a cost by reducing the number of parts and man-hours for assembly of a steering device for a vehicle. SOLUTION: A motor 27 drives a drive gear 22 meshed with a driven gear 21 rotating together with a rotating tube 13 threaded with a screw shaft 11 formed integrally with a rack 4 meshed with a pinion rotated by steering. A gear housing 26 rotatably supporting a drive gear 22 is formed integrally with either of a first housing 31 supporting one end side of a rotating tube 13 and a second housing 32 supporting the other end side. The radial relative displacement allowance of either of the first housing 31 and the second housing 32 is formed larger than that of the other, the relative positions of both housings 31 and 32 can be changed in the radial direction of the screw shaft 11, and a backlash between both gears 21 and 22 can be changed by changing the relative positions.
