PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide particles and a device for displaying an image through the flight or movement of the particles by encapsulating one or more kinds of particles between a transparent substrate and a counter substrate and applying an electric field to the particles from two electrodes having potentials different from each other, wherein characterization of particles in a positive or a negative polarity and securement of the amount of charged electricity are easy and the amount of the charged electricity can be controlled. SOLUTION: The particles containing a resin component formed by polymerizing one or more monomers selected from the group consisting of an acrylic monomer, a methacrylic monomer and a styrene type monomer are used as the particles for displaying the image.
