PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To switch the advancing directions of light in many ways by means of a mirror on which a plurality of stages of reflection faces are formed in the height direction in a light operator in which the optical paths of the light advancing in space are switched, or advancing states are switched by attenuating the light quantity in the advancing direction. SOLUTION: In a light operator which is provided with a movable plate 2 which is supported vertically movably with respect to a substrate 1 and a mirror 3 which is disposed upright on a side of the movable palate 2, and in which light operator the advancing state of the light is switched by a vertical movement of the mirror 3 together with the movable plate 2, a plurality of the stages of reflection face are formed on the mirror 3 in the height direction, the light incident to the mirror 3 is reflected in a plurality of directions by the vertical movement of the mirror 3. Thus, the light operator functions as an optical switch or an optical attenuator by switching the advancing states of the light in various directions and in various ways by means of the mirror 3 on which a plurality of stages of the reflection face are formed in the height direction.
