PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a refrigeration cycle for a cold storage chamber and a refrigeration cycle for a freezing chamber with high efficiency throughout the maximum load period having high temperatures to a low load period. SOLUTION: When there is a surplus of the cold storage capability while there is a shortage of the freezing capability, under low load having low room temperatures, the operation of the cycle for the cold storage chamber which attains the preset temperature earlier is stopped. On the other hand, the cooling operation solely to the freezing chamber 53 is conducted via a bypass circuit 35 with a throttling means 37, thereby efficiently keeping the temperature inside of the refrigerator at or below -18°C as stipulated in JIS.
