PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a time required to reach a temperature desired by a user in heating operation and to rapidly solve a temperature difference of an indoor space. SOLUTION: In an air conditioner in which a refrigerant circulates between a compressor and a first heat exchanger emitting heat and a second heat exchanger absorbing the heat, a first blower fan is provided at the first heat exchanger and a second blower fan at the second heat exchanger, and an air direction adjusting member is included for adjusting the direction of blown air vertically, there are a power heating mode where the indoor temperature is rapidly raised at the beginning of operation and heating air is supplied by changing the amount of the refrigerant discharged and air amount and direction according to the operation time so as to rapidly solve the indoor temperature difference and a general heating mode where the heating air is supplied by a constant air amount and constant air direction until the desired temperature chosen by the user is attained.
