PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reaction medium gel facilitating the formation of the gel by an aqueous medium without using an organic solvent, usable as a reaction medium because the organic synthesis can repeatedly be carried out, without draining unnecessary water, and useful for carrying out a process in a closed system and for making a process unnecessary, and to provide a method for producing the gel. SOLUTION: The reaction medium gel contains a compound represented by formula 1: R<SP>f1</SP>-[(CH<SB>2</SB>CR<SP>1</SP>COR<SP>2</SP>)<SB>p</SB>-(A)<SB>q</SB>]-R<SP>f2</SP>(wherein, R<SP>f1</SP>and R<SP>f2</SP>are each a polyfluoroalkyl group; R<SP>1</SP>is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group; R<SP>2</SP>is a monovalent organic group; A is a unit except (CH<SB>2</SB>CR<SP>1</SP>COR<SP>2</SP>); p is a positive integer; and q is 0 or a positive integer).
