PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a styrene/butadiene rubber (SBR) latex which may yield a film coating agent which shows an excellent coating suitability, film-forming property, adhesion to substrates and blocking resistance and yields a dried coating film showing an excellent strength, to obtain a film coating agent and to prepare a coating film. SOLUTION: The SBR latex yields a dried coating film which shows a stress- strain curve possessing upper and lower yield points apart from each other by≥1 MPa, an elongation at break of≥240% and a tensile strength at break of≥15 MPa in a tensile test. A dynamic viscoelasticity measurement of the dried coating film yields tanδpossessing two maximum points apart from each other by≥20°C and a temperature E" max corresponding to the maximum loss modulus of 17-26°C. The dried coating film has a crosslinking density of 0.01-0.10 mmol/ml and a gel percentage of 65-80%. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
