SUBSTANCE: electronic directory has medium with electronic page bearing names of items, each item being provided with visual information about its appearance including display of its controls and alphanumeric data on functions of controls; visual information is generated in the form of item operation simulator, item functions being initialized by way of access to respective visual control. Medium may be in the form of compact-disk or hard disk of computer installed at shopping places or on server connected to Internet for submitting information to remote customer.
