PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new pyrazolone adduct of a salicyclic acid derivative metal salt and to provide a heat-sensitive recording material excellent in light resistance of an image by using the adduct.

SOLUTION: The pyrazolone adduct of the salicyclic acid metal salt is represented by general formula (1) [wherein R1to R4are each independently hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, an alkyl group, phenyl group, hydroxy group, an alkoxy group, an amino group, acetamide group or sulfonamide; Mtl is a divalent transition metal; R5to R8are each independently hydrogen atom, an alkyl group or phenyl group; n is an integer of 2; R8may be a pyrazolone ring bonded through methylene group, with the proviso that in this case, R6is not hydrogen atom and n is an integer of 1].
