PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a green light emitting composition which can give an organic electroluminescent element capable of initiating light emission at a low voltage and having high luminous intensity, high luminous efficiency and high durability, and which can easily form an organic material layer by a wet process. SOLUTION: The composition contains at least one iridium complex compound selected from compounds represented by general formula (1) (wherein R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP>and R<SP>3</SP>are each independently H or a methyl, provided that at least one of R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>is a methyl) and other specified compounds, and a polymeric substance having hole transfer capability.
