PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an epoxy resin composition of a low dielectric loss tangent of 3×10<SP>-3</SP>or smaller at 1 GHz having good hardening properties and high heat resistance and a hardened product of the composition. SOLUTION: The composition contains an epoxy resin of formula (1) (wherein R<SB>1</SB>to R<SB>4</SB>are each independently a methyl or an ethyl group; and at least two of them are methyl groups), an active ester compound having at least three ester groups and a hardening accelerator.
