PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new hydrogen ion-responsive fluorescent pigment that shows large variation of fluorescent intensity responding to hydrogen ion concentration, gives the high fluorescent intensity and is applicable over a wide range of use. SOLUTION: The hydrogen ion-responsive fluorescent pigments are represented by formulas (I)-(IV) [wherein R<SP>1</SP>-R<SP>3</SP>are each H or a substituent; Q is O, S, -N(R<SP>24</SP>)- or -C(R<SP>24</SP>)(R<SP>25</SP>)- (wherein R<SP>24</SP>and R<SP>25</SP>are each an alkyl, an aryl or a heterocyclic ring group); R<SP>6</SP>is an alkyl, an aryl or a heterocyclic group; R<SP>7</SP>-R<SP>9</SP>are each H, an alkyl, an aryl, a heterocyclic group, a halogen atom, -OR<SP>10</SP>, -SR<SP>11</SP>or -N(R<SP>12</SP>)(R<SP>12</SP>); R<SP>10</SP>-R<SP>13</SP>are each an alkyl, an aryl, an acyl, sulfonyl or a heterocyclic ring; n is an integer of 0-3; V<SB>1</SB>and V<SB>2</SB>are each -C(R<SP>5</SP>)= or N; m is 0 or 1; R<SP>5</SP>is H or a substitute; G shows the atom group needing for forming the five-membered N-containing heterocyclic ring] or their salts.
