<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that a user using a printer can not recognize necessity of update of printer driver software unless he or she confirms the version of the driver software for himself or herself, and hence update is easily missed, so that he or she can not receive benefits such as countermeasures to bugs and new functions by the update. <P>SOLUTION: This printer driver program update notification device is characterized by being able to automatically notifying the user of the necessity of installation of a newly stored printer driver program by having a function capable of memorizing the e-mail address of the user and a function for delivering an e-mail to the e-mail memorized address when the printer driver program transmitted from a host system is stored in a hard disk. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
