<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device and an image formation method capable of preventing failure of paper feeding, equalizing the amount of the paper dust deposited on an optical sensor, and reducing service cost even when using the optical sensor easy to be influenced by paper dust. <P>SOLUTION: In this image forming device provided with a plurality of paper- feeding means having different conveyance paths, paper is fed by the paper- feeding means on the right-hand side having a short paper feeding passage until the number of sheets of fed paper becomes the prescribed N sheets (S15).
